Healthcare Leadership Training Course
Course Overview
Traditionally healthcare services have promoted personnel with experience in these services into lead, supervisory and management roles. In many cases these individuals have not had formal management training and learn many of the skills needed to be effective managers on-the-job. This Healthcare Leadership Training Course is designed to provide the necessary training in management skills to shorten the learning curve and improve their performance as supervisors and managers. The course is also an excellent review of management topics and responsibilities which will serve to update the skills of those currently working in the field and those interested in moving into higher levels of management.

The application of management skills will focus on the areas of medical imaging and other allied health disciplines.

This course consists of:
  • 2 Pre-course on-line WEBINARS,
    • March course will be held on 2/25/12 and 3/3/12
    • October course webinar dates will be determined
  • 3-day classroom session held at the MTMI Education Center,
    • 1st course, 3/9/12 to 3/11/12
    • 2nd course, 10/5/12 to 10/7/12
Course Objectives
At the completion of this course,
participants will be:
  • Familiar with challenges encountered when transitioning from staff to management.
  • Understand basic concepts of allied health management.
  • Familiar with operations, human resources, finance and marketing aspects of allied health management.
  • Familiar with terminology and uses in coding, billing and financial management.
  • Able to find resources to understand management concepts in greater depth for future development.

Course Format
The Healthcare Leadership Training Course will be held in 3 parts. The first part consists of two - 4 hour webinars. A Webinar (short for web based seminar) is a live event transmitted over the web. You login on your PC and participate in a interactive presentation given by the faculty. The second part of the course consists of 3 days held in MTMI’s Education Center located in Waukesha Wisconsin.

Course Credit
This course provides 30 contact hours of continuing education. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon completion of the course. All attendees must attend the entire course to receive full credit. Credit is awarded for radiologic technologists as ARRT Category A Credit and credit from various licensure states. Check with MTMI for specifics of the credit approval you require.
