About this Seminar
This seminar will explore the evolution of CT. This historic review will produce insight and perspective to the current clinical applications like CT Angiography, Virtual Imaging, Brain Perfusion and PET/CT. The conclusion of the day includes necessary theory of optimizing reformatted images and recognition of potential artifacts which will help attendees transition from the "everyday" technologist to the "indispensable" technologist.
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar,

  • Examine the transition from single
    slice to dual source CT.
  • Relate detector configurations past
    and present.
  • Assess the importance of slip ring
    technology to CT evolution.
  • Compare and describe resolution parameter.
  • Integrate mAs and kVp relationship.
  • Validate importance of table pitch
    and speed.

About the Instructor
Christine Eckenrod RT(R)(CT)
Christine started her medical imaging career when she graduated from the Altoona Hospital School of Radiologic Technology in 1986. In 1993, she specialized as a CT technologist followed by MRI in 2004. She is currently employed as a CT/MR technologist with Alliance Imaging, INC. She has extensive experience in CT training and protocol development. Christine presents a lighthearted, easy to understand review of all of the basics of CT Scanning while reviewing the content specifications for the ARRT CT registry. You will be sure to enjoy the presentation while learning or refreshing your knowledge in the field of CT Imaging.
Seminar Credit
This program provides 8 hours of Category A continuing education credit recognized by the ARRT for radiologic technologists, and credit from various licensure states. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon completion of the seminar. All attendees must attend the entire seminar to receive full credit.
