About this Seminar
This seminar will offer valuable information to technologists working
in MR as well as those who are considering cross-training into this highly technical field. The comprehensive approach of this program allows attendees the opportunity to validate their current knowledge and gain insight to the content specifications for the ARRT’s MRI exam. The overall course objective is to assist imaging professionals to progress to intelligent performance of this specialized diagnostic tool.
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Demonstrate methods for patient safety and monitoring.
  • Define FDA regulations as well as HIPPA compliance.
  • Describe the important factors for imaging procedures.
  • Recognize the pulse sequence types in MRI.
  • Examine parameters effecting image quality.
  • Define magnetic principles and laws.
  • Describe the advantages and disadvantages of each magnet and coil type.
  • Identify and compensate for MR artifacts.
  • Prepare for the ARRT MRI exam.

About the Instructor
John C. Klos, RT(R)(MR)
John is currently an instructor with the Lake Michigan College Imaging Career Center. In addition to teaching MRI Physics and MRI Image Analysis, John has experience with applications, consulting, purchasing, quality control, continuing education, registry review and performance of MRI. John’s lecture style is conversational. He is motivated by his passion to exchange knowledge in the field of magnetic resonance imaging to improve the diagnostic quality of patient care.
Seminar Credit
An application for 8 hours of Category A continuing education credit has been filed. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon completion of the seminar. All attendees must attend the entire seminar to receive full credit.
