Advances in CT Technology and Applications
8 Hours ARRT Category A Credit
William J. Davros, PhD, ABMP (D)
|
|
About this Seminar
If you want to know more about the ongoing technology explosion in CT, this seminar is for you. You will be taken to the "next level" of CT use with this excellent follow-up to Dr. Davros's popular Multi Detector Row/ Multi-slice CT Scanning seminar.
Tremendous technical improvements in scanning capabilities have been made resulting in reduced scan times, volume imaging without helical scanning and reduced radiation dose. Learn the latest uses of fast scanning, high-resolution systems for 2D, 3D and 4D imaging. Then learn how the speed of CT scanners affects patient dose and allows for new uses in cardiac gated CT, angiography and colonography. Clinical considerations for each application as well as scan protocols and case studies will be covered. You will also get an overview of site and infrastructure considerations for enterprise level integration of new CT equipment.
|
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar, participants will:
- Learn the current status of CT technology and its applications
- Know how image reconstruction can affect MPR and 3D imaging
- Learn about advanced image processing techniques related to CT
- Understand how cardiac gated CT is accomplished
- Know the major clinical applications of CT angiography
- Understand the strengths and weaknesses of CT colonography
