About this Seminar
This 1 - day seminar will cover the signs, symptoms and anatomy of the most common cardiovascular
problems faced by health care professionals in primary or urgent care. This will be proceeded
by a grounding in the important anatomy and physiology of the muscle, vessels, valves and nerves
involved. Diagnostic EKG principles will also be covered.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this seminar, participants will understand:
- How to distinguish cardiac from non-cardiac pain.
- How to assess arrythmias and their level of danger.
- The atherosclerotic process and the roll of cholesterol in this disease.
- How to clinically evaluate the importance of heart murmurs.
- Basic EKG patterns.

About the Instructor
|
|
Richard Silberman, MD
|
|
Dr. Silberman is a graduate of the Univeristy of Wisconsin School of Medicine.
He interned on the George Washington U. service at D.C. General Hospital before attending
the USAF School of Aerospace Medicine. He then served as a combat flight surgeon before
returning to Milwaukee for residency and fellowship in cardiology. Dr. Silberman has
practiced for over 30 years during which he had a teaching service at St. Luke’s Medical
Center in Milwaukee. He has also served as the hospital’s director of the EKG lab, Director
of the coronary care unit and two terms as chief of cardiology. Dr. Silberman has served as
a clinical preceptor and lecturer to PA’s at Marquette University and NP’s at UW Milwaukee.
His passion for teaching along with his vast experience makes this a seminar worth attending.

MTMI designates this educational activity for a maximum of

Refunds, minus a $30 processing fee, will be granted for cancellations
received at least 3 days prior to the seminar. Cancellations received
within 3 days of the seminar will receive a credit toward a future
MTMI seminar, minus the $30 processing fee. No refunds will be
made after the seminar.
Registration Discounts
Group discount for a group from one facility registering at the same time: 3-5
attendees 5%; 6 or more attendees 10%. Group discounts for MTMI
Institutional Members can be as high as 25%, please contact MTMI for details
(discount is not applicable if the tuition is paid by purchase order). For
student rates, contact MTMI. Members of MTMI receive a discount. Only one
discount may be applied.

MTMI reserves the right to cancel any scheduled seminar due to low
advance registration or other reasons. MTMI’s liability is limited to a refund
of any program tuition paid. MTMI recommends that attendees use refundable
airline tickets for travel to seminars. In case of cancellation of a seminar for
any reason, MTMI is not responsible for travel costs incurred by attendees
including non-refundable airline tickets.
