8 Hours ARRT Category A Credit
Paul F. Laudicina, M.A., R.T.(R), BCFE, DABFE, FACFE
|
|
About this Seminar
Forensic and trauma radiography present many challenges to the radiologic
technologist requiring them to adapt to a wide variety of situations. Providing
good images that help solve the mysteries presented in trauma from child abuse to
homicides is vital to a successful conclusion of each case. This seminar will
address the required radiologic procedures and techniques to improve your skills
and illustrate them with actual forensic case studies and their investigative
results. This program will also describe the work environment of the forensic
radiographer and address ways to handle the psychological impact of working in this
field. Attending this seminar will make you a better trauma and forensic
radiographer.
|
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- list 3 milestones in the evolution of forensic radiography
- describe the work environment of the forensic radiographer and how to cope
with it
- describe procedures and techniques associated with postmortem imaging
- list the 5 leading causes of unnatural and traumatic death
- explain the radiographic protocol for traumatic death
- explain the purposes of forensic odontology, anthropology and entomology in
forensic medicine investigations
- describe 5 specific radiologic signs of child abuse
- describe 2 types of metaphyseal injury found in pediatric long bones
