Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy
Two Day Seminar
About This Seminar
Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy is a rapidly emerging progression of conventional IMRT technology. During treatment, beam parameters are in a dynamic state while the machine is in arc motion.
This seminar is a first in the U.S. offering participants an all-inclusive perspective on Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy. It is a must attend for any facility considering implementing this technology. The faculty will bring a vast degree of clinical knowledge on relevant topics and share a host of professional experience, from well established patient databases, having pioneered this technique within their prestigious institutions.
Data analysis conducted on what is now amounting to significant patient populations, indicates promising results. IMAT is quickly evolving as a practical solution which rivals slice-based and fixed field IMRT.
Please join us for this exciting educational opportunity!
Educational Objectives
This seminar will assist attendees in:
  • Discovering how dynamic IMAT is not only fast and efficient but produces highly conformal dose distributions, can improve therapeutic ratio compared with static IMRT, minimizes dose variances, as a result of intrafraction motion & is well tolerated by patients.
  • Identifying key clinical rationale for treating with IMAT vs. conventional IMRT.
  • Identifying the resources required in implementation of an IMAT program.
  • Classifying various IMAT treatment planning techniques.
  • Formulating clinical conclusions for use with IMAT, based on comparative outcome data.
  • Examining how utilizing IMAT can be an advantage with Radiosurgery and SBRT treatments.
  • Formulating IMAT quality assurance practices.
  • Differentiating the rationale and clinical efficiency for using IMAT in various disease entities.

Workshops
Attendees will be able to participate in faculty directed case presentations offered in multiple 40 minute sessions. The clinical case tutorials will cover varying anatomical sites, be performed real-time (on one of four different treatment planning systems) and be organized in tracks (I-IV) to allow participation by individual’s within their specific area of interest. CMS/Elekta Monaco, Nucletron Oncentra, Philips Pinnacle3 Smart Arc and Varian Eclipse treatment planning systems will be represented.
Seminar Credit
The Medical Technology Management Institute (MTMI) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education for physicians. MTMI designates this educational activity for a maximum of 15 category 1 credits ™ toward the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. Credits will also be provided to medical physicists by CAMPEP, dosimetrists by the MDCB and therapists as 16.5 category A by the ASRT.
