About this Program

This program presents an overview of bone tumors. Emphasis is placed upon bone tumore classifications, types, radiographic recognition, location and specific age groups.

Objectives

Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to:
  • Describe 3 tumors that are formed from bone.
  • Describe 3 tumors that destroy bone.
  • Describe 3 radiographic features of bone tumor.
  • List 5 different types of bone tumor.
  • Identify the location for osteosarcome, Ewing's sarcoma and bony matastases.
  • List 3 bone tumors that are found in children and adolescents.
  • Describe 3 advantages or disadvantages of plain film imaging, CT imaging and MR imaging.

About the Speaker

Paul F. Laudicina, M.A., R.T.(R), BCFE, DABFE, FACFE
Paul has recently been named one of the 25 Most Influential Technologists by RT Image magazine. Honored as having gone above and beyond the call of duty and making great strides in his profession. Paul is a Professor Emeritus at the College of DuPage in Wheaton, Illinois and brings more than 46 years in extensive knowledge and experience of forensic and trauma radiography. He has lectured and published extensively in radiologic technology including a major reference text entitled “Applied Pathology for Radiographers”, as well as, co-authoring “Applied Angiography for Radiographers. He formerly authored a column in ADVANCE magazine called “Forensics Corner”. He served as the Deputy Coroner and forensic radiographer for DuPage County for 29 years. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Examiners and also is a Fellow in the American College of Forensic Examiners. Paul is currently teaching at Long Beach City College.

Continuing Education Credits

This program can provide up to 8 hours of Category A continuing education credit recognized by the ARRT for radiologic technologists, and credit from various licensure states. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon completion of the seminar. All attendees must attend the entire seminar to receive full credit.
