MTMI Inservice Programs Cancer: An Update for Radiologic Technologists
About this Program This program focuses upon the three leading cancers affecting adults. Emphasis is placed on cancer of the lung, breast, and prostate gland. Discussion will include diagnostic imaging modalities, treatment options and determination of prognosis.	Objectives Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to: Describe 3 primary types of lung cancer. List 3 possible causes of lung cancer. Explain the grading and staging of lung cancer. Describe the current treatment options for lung cancer. Describe 2 primary types of breast cancer. List 2 possible causes of breast cancer. Explain the grading and staging of breast cancer. Describe the current treatment options of breast cancer. Describe 2 primary types of prostate cancer. List 2 possible causes of prostate cancer. Explain the grading and staging of prostate cancer. Describe the current treatment options for prostate cancer.

About the Speaker Paul F. Laudicina, M.A., R.T.(R), BCFE, DABFE, FACFE Paul has recently been named one of the 25 Most Influential Technologists by RT Image magazine. Honored as having gone above and beyond the call of duty and making great strides in his profession. Paul is a Professor Emeritus at the College of DuPage in Wheaton, Illinois and brings more than 46 years in extensive knowledge and experience of forensic and trauma radiography. He has lectured and published extensively in radiologic technology including a major reference text entitled “Applied Pathology for Radiographers”, as well as, co-authoring “Applied Angiography for Radiographers. He formerly authored a column in ADVANCE magazine called “Forensics Corner”. He served as the Deputy Coroner and forensic radiographer for DuPage County for 29 years. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Forensic Examiners and also is a Fellow in the American College of Forensic Examiners. Paul is currently teaching at Long Beach City College.
Continuing Education Credits This program can provide up to 8 hours of Category A continuing education credit recognized by the ARRT for radiologic technologists, and credit from various licensure states. A certificate of attendance will be provided for each individual upon completion of the seminar. All attendees must attend the entire seminar to receive full credit.
