About this Seminar
This seminar provides valuable information for technologists working in MR and wanting to improve their
knowledge of this technology. This seminar is also appropriate for technologists wanting to cross-train
into MR and gain knowledge in this highly technical field. Survival in today’s increasingly competitive
market of MRI means that you must have a comprehensive knowledge of this modality. The information
provided in this seminar will expand your knowledge of this powerful diagnostic tool and enhance
your imaging techniques.
|
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
- Understand the creation of the MRI signal, from precession to detection by the RF coil.
- Explain basic tissue characteristics (TI, T2, PD, and T2*) and identify images by these characteristics.
- Describe the various instrumentation systems used in MRI and their purpose, including gradients, radiofrequency, magnet and coils.
- Recognize artifacts seen on MRI images and discuss how they are caused and how they can be prevented.
- Comprehend the numerous aspects of patient care, including vital signs and legal doctrine.
- Name appropriate imaging procedures for areas of the body, including identification of anatomical
structures in all orthogonal planes.
- List the several aspects of MRI safety that should be adhered to in the workplace.
- Comprehend the interaction between image quality and technological imaging choices.
- State the parameters that are evaluated during quality control procedures.
- Assess knowledge base of MRI by participating in a mock registry exam.

|
Noreen Violante, MS, RT(N)(MR), CNMT
|
|
Noreen’s professional career began in the clinical world as a
Nuclear Medicine Technologist and then as an MRI technologist.
She soon discovered her talent for training and teaching
earning her such honors as; Austin West Award for Outstanding
Demonstrator Performance at the 1992 RSNA, TiP-TV Broadcast
Presentation Awards in 92, 93 & 94, TiP-TV Communicator of the
Year in 93 and the Delta Society-Honor Society for Applications
Specialist in 1995. She continued her own education earning her
M.S. in Health Service Administration and later a Post
Baccalaureate Teachers Certificate. Noreen is excited to share
her knowledge and passion with you in this 2 day MTMI seminar.

Seminar Credit
|
This program provides 8 hours of Category A continuing
education credit for each day, for radiologic technologists recognized by
the ARRT and various licensure states. ASRT Category A credit is also
recognized by CAMRT’s Continuing Education Credit Approval Program for CE credit
in Canada.
Attendees must attend the entire 2 day seminar to receive the full 16 credits. A certificate
of attendance will be provided for each individual upon completion of each day of the seminar.
