About this Seminar
The ability to capture medical images in digital form and the expanding capabilities
of computer technology to store, transmit and display images has led to the
development of PACS (Pictures Archiving and Communication Systems). PACS is rapidly
changing the radiology workflow, and the way imaging professionals are performing
their tasks. The impact of PACS on users need to be carefully considered. This
seminar is designed to ease your PACS transition by updating your skills and
improving your understanding of PACS functionalities. You will have the opportunity

Educational Objectives
At the completion of this seminar, participants will:
- understand the practical and operational issues essential to a successful PACS
implementation
- have a good understanding of PACS operations and potential problems
- define HIS, RIS and PACS
- describe the relationship between PACS, HIS and RIS
- compare the relative merits of currently available PACS components and
options
- design and apply operational strategies that will create increased workflow
efficiencies
- gain insights into the latest advanced in PACS technology and DICOM
