What is the purpose of this?
If you can't see what this can do for you simply by looking at it, then you probably shouldn't buy it. In fact you are
proably looking for a web counter, which this is not meant to be. This is a tool for people who spend money to drive
customers to their web sites.
What is required to run this on my server?
Your server must support Mysql 4.0.1 or greater and PHP 4.3.2. With slight modifications it can also be made to work on previous versions
of these languages. You will also need to understand how to maintain Mysql databases to get the most out of this product.
The software comes with everything you need to begin generating traffic maps with the included gepgraphic views and can be
pre-programmed for up to 15 uniques products/services at no additional cost.
How does it work?
Whenever a web page containing the tracking code is accessed, a search is made in a databse for the IP address requesting that page.
If no match is found an attempt is made to locate the server that is making the request by querying several publicly
accessible databases. When the server is located the zipcode of the server is converted to longitude and latitude and added to
the database maintained locally on the server. Once we have that data we record it along with what page was accessed and then we
can plot it on the map. An additional lookup is then performed on another database to extract the name of the private network or ISP.
Why would you want the name of the ISP?
Actually I haven't found any use for the name of the ISP. I have however found that if I know what companies are looking at what
products I can have someone follow up and try and sell them what I know they already are interested in. While this
part of the information may not be useful to everyone using this system, it is significantly important to others.
How come I can't see Hawaii?
The views that are available need to be manually programmed in. Instructions are included as to how to do this.
You will maintain a seperate Msql table to define your views.
How come I can see points plotted in Canada but no other detail
The software will currently only be able to serve up map views of the US. While I don't plan to add any other countries it is not
totally out of the plan. I do plan to add a way to list foreign visits by country but not graphically at this time.
How do I get my products in the product list?
This is also a seperate Msql table that you maintain yourself.
Can I modify the original software?
Yes, however you do so at your own risk. Once modified I will no longer support your license.
Once I buy the software can I sell it from my website as a subscription service?
Yes, however you will need to buy the multi-user version. Please send an email for pricing information for multi-user license.
