About this webinar
Osteoporosis is a major health problem that affects more than 28 million people in
the U.S. Ongoing research advances have created optimism and treatment
options for those who have been diagnosed with the disease. An early assessment of bone health with
accurate and precise measurements is critical to the prevention and diagnosis of osteoporosis.
This webinar will help you obtain a foundation in clinical bone densitometry
as well as provide an in depth understanding of the appropriate use and
interpretation of Dual X-Ray Absorptiometry (DEXA) scans. In addition, it will also be a valuable
guide for those preparing for the ARRT or ISCD Bone Densitometry Certification
Examinations.
This webinar will be presented in two 2-hour sessions.

Educational Objectives
At the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to perform higher quality DEXA measurements and provide up-to-date
bone health information for all patients, as well as:
- Understand why DEXA is the "Gold Standard" diagnostic method used to determine fracture risk.
- Be able to uderstand and discuss fracture risk and treatment options.
- Design and generate useful forms and reports for your DEXA service.
- Develop a valuable patient intake form for all referred patients.
- Attain highest quality DEXA image acquisition and analysis.
- Learn how to detemine and improve your reproducibility and precision in DEXA analysis for all relevant skeletal sites: Hip, Spine, Forearm, and Whole Body
