Breast Ultrasound Registry Review
8 Hours ARRT Category A Credit
Denise K. Simeth, BS, RDMS, RVT, CNMT
About this webinar
This webinar can be used as an aid in preparing for both ARDMS and ARRT registry exams. It will provide an opportunity to learn ultrasound imaging techniques and to upgrade your skills in this increasingly demanding role. Ultrasound has proven to be a very valuable and cost-effective tool for visualizing cystic and solid structures in the breast. Ultrasound provides a complementary imaging technique to mammography and together they provide improved detection of breast cancer. Special knowledge and skill is needed to fully utilize the capabilities of breast ultrasound. This webinar will provide increased knowledge of the technical and clinical aspects of breast ultrasound and an overview of the basic principles and concepts of ultrasound.

A printable download will be
available to each registrant prior to
each session of the webinar.
This will allow you to follow along
with the presentation and make
notes as you feel necessary.

This webinar will be presented
in four 2-hour sessions.

Educational Objectives
At the completion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Optimize preparation for ARRT and ARDMS Breast Ultrasound Registry exams.
  • Understand how the basic principles and instrumentation of ultrasound affect the technique of breast ultrasound.
  • Recognize normal breast anatomy on the ultrasound image and evaluate lesions for their benign or malignant features.
  • Recall the mammographic and ultrasonic features of specific benign and malignant lesions.
  • Explain the role and importance of multi-modality breast imaging in the work up and management of the breast.
  • Recognize breast ultrasound artifacts, and understand why they occur.
  • Develop an awareness of the invasive procedures that are available, as well as, the benefits and limitations.
  • Define the different surgical and nonsurgical treatment options for patients who develop breast cancer.
