About this webinar
This webinar series is designed as a review of the topics included on the Mammography
certification examination conducted by the ARRT. All of the major topic areas
listed in the exam specifications will be covered making this program a very
good preparation for this examination. The webinar series will be divided in
4-two hour sessions making this an effective way to review and prepare for the
examination. This webinar series can also serve as a comprehensive overview of Mammography
for those wanting to use it to update skills.
A printable download will be available to each registrant prior to the first session of the webinar. This will allow you
to follow along with the presentation and make notes as you feel necessary.
This webinar will be presented in four 2-hour sessions.

Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this webinar, participants should be able to:
- Identify and describe the detailed anatomical components of the breast and their function.
- Differentiate mammographic characteristics of benign vs. malignant lesions.
- Describe the breast cancer screening guidelines and identify the major and minor risk factors for breast cancer.
- Understand the basic design characteristics of analog and digital mammography units.
- Review and discuss the purpose, frequency, equipment needed, procedures, performance criteria
and corrective actions needed for quality control testing of mammographic units.
- Describe the impact of digital imaging on routine positioning.
- Identify and describe the reasons for the use of supplementary imaging projections.
- Identify specific imaging problems of the non-conforming patients.
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of various alternative breast imaging modalities.
- Specify the advantages, disadvantages and complications of various intervention options.

examination given by the ARRT will find this webinar helpful in their preparation.
Those technologists interested in learning the field of Mammography will find this webinar
series to be a good introduction to the principles and practices of Mammography. More
experienced Mammographers looking for a review and updating of skills will
also find the webinar series to be of value while earning 8 category A credits
toward ARRT requirements.

About the Instructor

Olive Peart M.S., RT(R)(M)
|
|
Olive Peart M.S., R.T.(R)(M) is a clinical instructor at the Stamford Hospital School of
Radiography in Stamford CT. Through her books, writings and lectures Ms. Peart has always
expressed a keen interest in mammography and breast imaging and still enjoys working with
patients. Her technical query column appears regularly in Radiologic Technology -
Journal of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists, and she is an editorial
consultant and contributor to RT Image. Ms. Peart is the author of Spanish for
Professionals in Radiology, an English to Spanish translation of often-used, technical
terms and radiological instructions. She has also authored Lange Mammography
Examination, a one-stop review for the ARRT mammography examination, and a comprehensive book
on breast imaging, Mammography and Breast Imaging: Just the Facts,.
Ms. Peart has a comprehensive knowledge of imaging the breast and will share that knowledge
at this seminar.

Course Credit
|
|
Full attendance to the 4 sessions will provide 8 hours
of Category A continuing education credit for radiologic
technologists recognized by the ARRT and various licensure states.
Each session of this live webinar provides 2 hours
of Category A credit. If you are unable to attend the full 4 sessions,
credit can be claimed for each 2 hour session completed.
We recommend attendance to the 4 sessions for a complete
review of the content categories.

The advanced tuition for this webinar is $29 (MTMI members $26) for the complete series when
registration is received 4 or more days prior to the start of session one of the webinar series.
The regular tuition is $33 (MTMI members $30) for the complete series when registration is
received 3 or less days prior to the start of session one of the webinar series.
Advanced tuition for a single session of the webinar series is $116 (MTMI members $104) per session when
registration is received 4 or more days prior to the start of session one of the webinar series.
Regular tuition is $132 (MTMI members $120) per session
when registration is received 3 or less days prior to the start of session one of the webinar series.

Refunds of tuition will be made to registrants that cannot log into the webinar due to

fee. Cancelations made within 3 days of the start of the webinar series will receive a
credit toward a future MTMI webinar less the $15 processing fee. No refunds will be
made after the start of the webinar series with the exception stated above.

registration or other reasons. MTMI’s liability is limited to a refund of any
