About this Program

In the past several years, significant advances in Computed Tomography (CT) technology have occurred with the development of spiral/helical scanning and multi-slice/multi-detector row scanners. These developments have driven an expansion in the clinical applications of CT and an increased number of CT scanners. Opportunities for CT technologists have grown as a result. Evidence of competency in CT can be demonstrated by completing the requirements for certification in Computed Tomography offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). This has become a required credential for employment in many facilities.

This webinar series reviews the topics included in the  ARRT certification examination. All of the major topic areas listed in the exam specifications are covered making this program a very good preparation for this examination.

The webinar series is divided into four - 3.5-hour, 4-credit sessions making this an effective way to review and prepare for the examination. This webinar series also served as a comprehensive overview of CT for those wanting to update their skills.

A certificate of attendance, documenting 4 hours of credit will be provided for each individual upon completion of each 3.5-hour webinar session. Completing all 4 sessions of this series provides the 16 hours of structured education related to the content specifications outlined by the ARRT, required for certification and registration.

Printable course materials will be available to each registrant before the first session of the webinar. This will allow you to follow along with the presentation and make notes as necessary.

Tuition listed is per session.

Educational Objectives

After this webinar, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the patient handling, assessment and monitoring skills required for CT examinations.
  • Safely conduct and monitor the administration of contrast media required for some CT imaging techniques.
  • Appreciate radiation safety and dose considerations needed to conduct CT examinations safely.
  • Describe the main components of a CT scanner and their function in the imaging process.
  • Understand the operation of a CT scanner and the control of parameters that affect image quality and artifacts.
