About this Program

This Inservice training was designed for the Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) team of Athletic Trainers. This customized in-service includes a didactic lecture with basic ultrasound history, basic ultrasound physics and pathology. The majority of the time will be spent in the hands-on workshop learning MSK procedures of the upper and lower extremities.

Upper Extremity/Abdominal Wall 

8:00 - 9:00 am         Basic Ultrasound History & Physics  

9:00 - 10:00 am       Pathology and Brief Anatomy Review 

10:00 - 10:30 am     Shoulder US demo 

10:30 - 12:30 pm     Shoulder hands-on scanning

12:30 - 1:00 pm       Lunch Break

1:00 - 1:30 pm          Elbow US demo 

1:30 - 3:30 pm          Elbow hands-on scanning 

3:30 - 3:45 pm          Wrist and Hand anatomy review and demo 

3:45 - 4:45 pm          Wrist and Hand hands-on scanning 

4:45 - 5:00 pm          Day 1 questions/answers 

 

Day 2 

 

Lower Extremity 

8:00 - 8:30 am          Hip/thigh (hamstring) US demo and brief anatomy review

8:30 - 10:30 am       Hip/thigh (hamstring) hands on scanning 

10:30 - 11:00 am     Knee/ankle US demo and anatomy review  

11:00 - 12:00 pm     Knee/ankle hands-on scanning 

12:00 - 12:30 pm     Free scanning and question/answer

Cancellation Policy

“Hands-On” Courses

Refunds, minus a $50 processing fee, will be granted for cancellations received prior to 10 days before the program. Cancellations received within 10 days of the program will receive a credit toward a future MTMI program, minus the $50 processing fee. No refunds will be made after the program starts. MTMI reserves the right to cancel any scheduled program because of low advance registration or other reasons. MTMI’s liability is limited to a refund of any program tuition paid. MTMI recommends that attendees use refundable airline tickets. In case of cancellation of a program for any reason, MTMI is not responsible for travel costs incurred by attendees including non-refundable airline tickets.
