MTMI's PACS Administrator Course aims at providing all of the essential skills and knowledge necessary for the successful planning, implementation and maintenance of a PACS (now called MIMPS by FDA), or other radiology systems.
This program helps prepare students for the Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) certification exam. Major topics include: a comprehensive guide to DICOM and HL7, Teleradiology, PACS architecture, integrating the healthcare enterprise, and electronic medical records. In addition, they will gain insights to the cutting-edge imaging informatics platform integrated into the system.
The deployment of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) in radiology is changing the way imaging services are provided. Enterprise PACS management represents an ongoing challenge for Radiology and IT personnel and their vendor partners.
What is a PACS Administrator?
A PACS Administrator is the healthcare professional responsible for the complex set of functions necessary to achieve successful informatics. These professionals must work with a foot in both the clinical healthcare and information technology realms. Because of this, the most successful PACS administrators are adept at communicating with highly technical personnel while possessing a thorough understanding of the radiological diagnostic process and health imaging informatics.
