Overview
About this Inservice
Information on this page is an example of the EQUIP for Mammography program that MTMI can provide. A customized program can be created to meet the needs of your facility.
Are you having a difficult time implementing your EQUIP program at your facility? If so, let us help you in preparing and implementing a solid and useful program.
The primary goal of the Mammography Quality Standards ACT (MQSA) is clinical image quality, and using the eight image quality attributes for clinical image review. Certified mammography facilities must continue to comply with the standards for clinical image quality according to mammography accrediting bodies.
MTMI can work with your facility in developing a quality EQUIP program by working with your Mammography leads with an on-site one day program. Our MQSA qualified Mammography Specialists will provide you with the following:
- Thorough explanation of the EQUIP program as outlined by the MQSA.
- What is it?
- How do we comply?
- Examples of how a program can be outlined for MQSA.
- Clinical Image Assessment
- Clinical image review utilizing the eight image quality attributes
- Positioning
- CC and MLO
- Tips and tricks to improve
- Film Critique - Group discussion
Educational Objectives
At the completion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Discuss performance of the CC and MLO views and the variances in positioning techniques among technologists.
- Evaluate CC and MLO clinical images for radiographic landmarks.
- To position (but not image) volunteers in a controlled setting and evaluate strengths and weaknesses of the mammography technologists.
- To image actual patients presenting with wide range of body habitus, breast tissue composition, and diagnostic problems.
