John Leal

John Leal’s background provides over 30 years of clinical experience and expertise in the area of CT. Beginning in the mid 80’s, he has been a pioneer in the development of acquisition protocols utilizing Ultrafast Electron Beam CT Scanners, many of which now form the basis for current Multi-detector CT protocol. He has been instrumental in providing data analysis for early published studies relating to coronary calcium and CT Angiography. 

John has provided his expertise over the years to multiple hospitals and free standing Imaging Centers and has held both technical and director positions in the clinical arena. He also has 15 plus years working in Clinical Applications and as Clinical Support Services Manager. He has developed several imaging centers from the ground up and has been a frequent speaker at the Society of Cardiac CT, SCCT’s annual meetings. John is a founding member of the SCCT and committee member for the Technologist and Nursing Committee. He teaches both physicians and technologists on the many aspects of CT acquisition and post-processing.
