Jolynn Van Ert is a Radiology Support Specialist employed at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. She is a member of the RIS/PACS team providing oversight with regards to documentation, coding and billing of general radiology, interventional radiology and cardiac cathlab procedures. Her background is somewhat unique as she is both a registered radiologic technologist with over 20 years of experience as well as a certified coder holding the CPC and CIRCC credentials granted through the American Academy of Professional Coders. As part of the CPOE initiative in support of Meaningful Use, Jolynn engages in educational outreach with the ordering providers regarding medical necessity and its supporting documentation for imaging services. Jolynn also is serving on the ICD-10 Education and Training sub-team in preparation for the mandated ICD-10 conversion.
