Michael T. DiMuzio, PhD
Michael T. DiMuzio, Ph.D. is the founder and president of Bone Health Management, Inc.. He is a past Manager of The Osteoporosis Center in Bannockburn, Illinois as part of Illinois Bone and Joint Institute. Dr. DiMuzio has developed osteoporosis centers throughout the North Shore of Chicago since 1996 when he founded and directed The Osteoporosis Prevention and Research Center of Highland Park Hospital near Chicago and was honored as the first Center of Excellence in bone health education and diagnostics in the U.S.
He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Northwestern University and has been an active scientist in bone metabolic disorders and related topics for more than twenty-five years. He was a Fogarty Research Fellow at the University of Bern in Switzerland, and has held faculty appointments at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Rush Medical College, and Northwestern University.
He is an active member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the National Osteoporosis Foundation in Chicago and has published more than 75 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and edited texts. He has lectured around the world on topics related to osteoporosis, bone densitometry, and advances in the diagnostics of bone metabolic diseases, such as ultrasound and bone biochemical markers.
