Cathryn Couvillion is the Lead Ultrasound Technologist at Children’s Hospital New Orleans. She has been the lead tech for 15 years specializing in General, GYN, Peds, Vascular, MSK. Cathryn is registered in ARDMS, AB, OB/GYN, RVT, PS, BR. She is also a registered Radiologic Technologist, ARRT. Cathryn currently orients and precepts all new Sonography graduates and students from the surrounding Sonography Programs. She serves on the Medical Diagnostic Sonography Advisory Board for Delgado Community College. She accompanies the Ultrasound Dept by serving as the Radiology liaison between all departments and offsite satellite clinics. She has accomplished ACR accreditation for the Ultrasound Dept. in 4 categories and assisted with MRI and CT accreditation. She monitors all QA for Ultrasound imaging and TJC policies and protocols. She has a passion for Ultrasound procedures and learning new scanning techniques for enhancing imaging optimization. She enjoys attending SDMS and MSK conferences to expand her learning and teaching techniques.
