Barry Southers is an Associate Professor – Educator in the Advanced Medical Imaging Technology program at the University of Cincinnati. He has worked in medical imaging education since 2009, and has been in the field of medical imaging since 1992. He has worked in MRI since 1996 and he serves as MRI Program Director in the Advanced Medical Imaging Technology program at University of Cincinnati. Mr. Southers is currently the President of the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine – Section for Magnetic Resonance Technologists (ISMRM-SMRT), an international MR society devoted to the advancement, education and training of MR professionals and students worldwide, as well as promoting a high level of knowledge and professionalism in the field of MR technology and radiography. His research focuses on functional MRI/MR Spectroscopy, as well as studies evaluating the current MRI curriculum and specific learning styles of medical imaging students
