This dynamic session explores the connection between Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Process Improvement (PI), focusing on their practical application within medical imaging departments. Participants will learn how to set and implement SMART goals, select meaningful KPIs, and align them with broader improvement strategies such as the Balanced Scorecard. The course will introduce lean daily management tools—including GEMBA rounds and boards—to empower frontline staff and support a culture of continuous improvement. Through real-world examples and actionable insights, you will discover how to lead more effectively, coach your teams, and drive measurable progress.

Meet your presenter(s)

Carla Knisley
MBA, CRA, (RT)(R)(MR)
Carla Knisley is the Director of Clinical Support Services at OhioHealth Dublin Methodist and Grady Memorial Hospitals in Columbus, Ohio. She is responsible radiology, oncology services, and pain management. She has worked in the health care field for 25 + years with a clinical background in general radiography and MRI. Ms. Knisley has held leadership positions at Premier Health Partners in Dayton, Ohio as well as her current role at OhioHealth. Her experience has provided the opportunity to be an active leader in many expansion and construction projects, lean leadership initiatives, leader development, and operational excellence projects. She holds a master’s degree in business administration, a baccalaureate degree in healthcare management with a minor in human resource management, and an associate’s degree in applied science – radiologic technology. Ms. Knisley became a Certified Radiology Administrator (CRA) in 2014. She is an active member and volunteer with the professional radiology administrators organization, AHRA. She has also previously presented leadership topics at several AHRA conferences and has co-edited chapters in the series of books AHRA offers to assist in obtaining the CRA certification.
